Story behind the painting:
My husband surprised me with the most extraordinary bouquet I had ever seen. The peonies were so huge they seemed to burst from their wrapping, overflowing with life and beauty. In that moment, I knew I had to paint them—not simply to remember the flowers, but to capture the joy of the day they represented.
As I painted, I found myself celebrating the journey of a marriage, the faithfulness of God through every season, and the gift of relationships that grow deeper with time. Some moments deserve to be held onto, and art has a wonderful way of preserving what our hearts never want to forget.
Flowers remind us that beauty is wonderfully fleeting. Their fragrance, their vibrant colors, and their delicate petals are here only for a season. Yet they also remind me to treasure today—to delight in the simple gifts God places before us: the people we love, the sound of the ocean, the sparkle of light through glass, and the breathtaking beauty of creation.
This painting is a celebration of life, gratitude, and love. It is an invitation to pause, to remember God’s goodness, and to cherish the people who have walked beside us through every season.
